For a change of scenery, the Parc Natural de l'Albufera nature reserve nearby is excellent walking, cycling and bird-watching country. Alternatively, the Coves del Drac (Caves of the Dragon) boast almost 2000m of caves and six subterranean lakes, and includes a large aquarium.
In the north, Cap de Formentor is a rocky promontory, an out-of-the-way paradise great for walking, lizard-spotting and bird-watching.

If you want to find a bit of local culture and flavour, Granja is an old estate in Esporlas that has been converted into a private museum.
