Car Hire in Ostbahnhof Railway Station - Mini guide to Ostbahnhof Railway Station
Berlin’s Ostbahnhof, or East Station, is the mainline railway station in Berlin and sees an awful lot of traffic passing through it on a daily basis. Even if you are just passing through, there is a lot to do at this station. Over the past few years the station has gone though many different name changes, but its current moniker has been in place since 1998. In fact, this station has been through many physical changes as well as name changes since it opened in 1842 as the Frankfurter Bahnhof. It was once going to have a hotel in it, but in the 1990s this idea was scrapped, and the hotel was taken down. However, you can still see a half-finished staircase that leads down to an unfinished parking area.
That is not the only reason people stop in to see Berlin’s Ostbahnhof. If you are a film-fan you may have heard of the movie The Bourne Supremacy, starring American actor Matt Damon. Part of this 2004 action movie was actually shot in this very location. When you get tired of walking around the beautiful glass and concrete structure there are plenty of shops and eating facilities along the main concourse that cater for all tastes. There are some great places to sit, relax and watch the world go by. In fact, there is so much to see and do here you will never want to leave.
