Oschersleben is a town located in the Börde district, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The population in the year 1905 was 13,271, in the year 2005 about 18,000. Oschersleben is the seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft which means “collective municipality”. Oschersleben is situated near the River Bode at 24 miles south west of Magdeburg in a region called Magdeburger Börde. The river Bode reaches its extreme northern point just outside the town and is well worth making a trip to see. Oschersleben is the most important and famous railway station on the track from Magdeburg to Halberstadt and Thale.

On 23rd November 994 Oschersleben was first mentioned in a document by the Emperor Otto III and in the year 1235 it was referred to as a town for the first time. In the 17th century most parts of Oschersleben were shattered by fires and eventually in the year 1648 it came under Brandenburg's domination. Oschersleben emerged as a district capital in the year 1816 and was connected to the railway system in the year 1843.
