History:The town dates back to the 10th and 11th century AD when it was founded by a Roman General. The town was also an active and thriving medieval town with important Port that made it one of the main entries for trading in the Sardinia.
How to get here??The City is easily accessible through the state intersections SS125 and SS129. The nearest airport is at Olbia. The city is little isolated in the lines of communication though.
Geography:The town has a coast line of about 15km and the maximum elevation in the town is about 20m above sea level. The city has a small residing population of 6000 spread over an area of over 92 square km.
Getting around the town:The town is well connected by means of taxi which is the preferred means of transportation for getting around the town. You can also drive around the city and the beaches if you are familiar with the language spoken by the locals. Taxis can be hired from just over 6 Euros.
Places to Visit:The city is famous due to its beaches in which people throng to visit all round the year. There also monuments of historical and cultural value in the city like the Municipal Museum Don Nanni Guiso and there are numerous churches spread over the city which is worth visiting.
