Car Hire in Orlando - Getting to Orlando
There are more package and charter flights to Orlando than any other US destination and its international airport has regular trans-Atlantic flights. Connections to and from US cities are numerous. Orlando International Airport is 9 miles southeast of downtown Orlando and 22 miles northeast of Walt Disney World. Regular shuttles run between the airport and Orlando's Lynx Bus Center. Private shuttles service many hotels, those arriving on package deals usually benefit from this, however car hire is cheap, easy and practical in the US, and there is plenty more to see in Florida.
Amtrak, Americas rail network runs from Orlando southwards to Fort Lauderdale and Miami and Northwards to Atlanta and the Eastern seaboard, as well as New Orleans and many other south-eastern destinations.
Greyhound bus service is the most extensive network in the US, with regular departures to all regional cities, and connections to destinations beyond. Its the cheapest but least comfortable means of getting around.
By car the Old US1 highway runs north south along the coast, while inland the Florida turnpike traverses the length of the panhandle.
