This town is located in the district of Mittlerer Erzgebirgskreis, which is again in the Free State of Saxony of Germany. There’s a 700-year history associated with this place where life was breathed in by the Ore mining industry that gradually gave rise to other associated industries like gun manufacturing and gunpowder mills. However, things came to an abrupt halt when an explosion blew up the gunpowder factory and the next that followed was a railway network and a Kindergarten.

Since the 1880s, Olbernhau started flourishing as a proper town with a hospital and gas streetlights; this was due to the development of gasworks in the area till electrical power took over twelve years later. It was not until 1902 that the town privileges were officially granted to Olbernhau and as a result, the Art Deco Tivoli (a concert hall and ball room) came into existence, followed by a widened Marked Bridge and a public swimming pool.
