Car Rental Nottingham - Exploring Nottingham
Exploring the Nottingham area by car
There are many beautiful spots along the Trent River to stop and enjoy the peacefulness and scenery. Alternatively you may wish to visit some mansions in the area. Newstead Abbey in Ravenshead is a 30-minute drive, Chatsworth Castle is a stunning place with lovely gardens and a hedge maze. In fact there are literally dozens of others in close proximity to the city.
A trip to the Nine Ladies, an old Pagan stone circle, is an hours drive away via the beautiful town of Buxton in the Peak district. Buxton town itself is well worth the visit as a great example of Old England, as is nearby Matlock.
Alton Towers is the UKs most famous, and biggest theme park, with fearsome roller-coaster rides and ghost trains to kept he whole amused. Alton Towers is located around 40 miles from Nottingham and is clearly sign-posted from the M1 motorway.
