Despite its relative obscurity, New Brunswick is a surprisingly accessible destination and there are many travel options to choose from. Greater Moncton Airport is served by Air Canada, with frequent flights to Fredericton, Saint John, Halifax and Montreal. International connections can often be made via Halifax (Nova Scotia). There are airports offering local services at Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John, Charlo, Miramichi, Saint-Léonard and Bathurst.
Highways from all points in the United States and Canada join the Trans-Canada Highway into New Brunswick, making it an easy drive from Ontario, Québec, New England or other points on the eastern seaboard of the US. The Trans-Canada Highway follows the Saint John River Valley from Edmundston in the north to Moncton in the east, with the majority of the highways branching off it. Additionally, there are over 16,000kms of roads in the province.
VIA Rail runs six times a week from Montréal to Halifax, and three times via Mont Joli and Saint John.
SMT buses run a network of services with daily connections along the Saint John River Valley and up the east coast from Moncton to Campbellton. There are also regular buses from Fredericton, Saint John and Moncton over to Charlottetown on Prince Edward Island, via the Confederation Bridge.
The Saint John-to-Digby car ferry is a useful shortcut if you're heading down to southwest Nova Scotia.
