Chubu Centrair International Airport is a first class international airport servicing central Japan with 27 international airlines and two domestic airlines hosted there. It lies within Japan's third most populated metropolitan area, the Chukyo Metropolitan Area, the heart of which is Nagoya, Japan's fourth largest single city.

Busses depart from the airport to various destinations on the mainland. Fares vary from 1,000 yen for the short trip into central Nagoya, to 5,000 yen for the long journey to Numazu. Taxi fare into Nagoya is 12,000 yen, but if you hire a car, the cost of ferry service or the toll road are all less than 2,000 yen each.
