Car Rental Murcia - Exploring Murcia
There are many surrounding towns and villages which have great beaches and separate market days well worth a visit and easily explored by car.
Lloret de Mar lies at the heart of the Costa Brava and is one of Spains trendiest holiday resorts. The beach here consists of coarse golden sand and shingle shelving steeply into the sea. The beautiful seafront promenade is lined with tall palms.
Also on the coast, Estartit is great for scuba diving. There is a crammed marina here filled with luxury yachts and one of the best sandy beaches on this part of the coast.
Calpe, Altea and Javea are somewhat further south-west on coast and all offer a good day out. There are lots of fish restaurants round about the port at Calpe just under the Penon de Ifach, where you are plied with sangria to induce you to take a table.
Travelling inland from the coast, a must-see is the Jalon Valley, with its beautiful almond, orange and lemon groves. Through the Jalon, you passes the striking Cascada de El Algar waterfalls.
Heading west towards Malaga is the little village of Nerja, with a beautiful view out to the sea. Worth a look here are the 3000 years old caves full of stalactites.
Other major cities within easy reach by road are Granada, Córdoba and Seville.
