Car Hire in Munich
Getting to Munich
The Franz-Josef-Strauss Airport has regular trans-Atlantic flights as well as many options to European and other major international destinations, either direct or via Frankfurt. Most major domestic routes operate at least six times a day. Trains leave from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof every 20 minutes from 4am to 1am; you can catch the S1 or S8 train (40 mins). A taxi from the airport into the city centre costs about US$55.
The rapid trains leave nearly every 2 hours for most major cities in Germany, and also run regularly between European cities, including Vienna, Rome, Paris, Prague
and Zurich.
You can also get a direct bus from Munich to London, Brussels, Paris and Vienna; it's cheaper than the train but takes longer.
Germany is famous for its autobahn network, and other roads on the network are equally efficient, safe and convenient, making driving in Germany a pleasure.
