Car Hire Monastir Airport
Mini guide to Monastir Airport
Located on Tunisias northeastern coast, Monastir International Airport has grown enormously in recent years, a reflection of the popularity of the citys imposing and ancient fortified monastery and its great beaches.
A single-level terminal building caters for all domestic and international flights. Once inside the terminal building, you will find banks and ATM machines. The airport has an excellent restaurant and there are both duty-free and regular shopping outlets, offering local handicrafts, gifts, alcohol and tobacco. There are newsstands which have a wide selection of news print media.
Those who require special assistance or wheelchairs should notify their airlines when booking their flight. Specially fitted toilets and ramps are located across the airport. Designated parking areas are available in the car park opposite the terminal. An airport information desk is centrally located in the terminal building.
Monastir Airport is six kilometres from the city, and is easily accessed by both private and public transportation. The airport can be reached by road simply by following highly-visible signposts. It takes only a few minutes from the city centre. Buses regularly ply the airport-city route during normal operating hours. Ask the information desk for current timetables. Taxis are available from outside the terminal building and run to central Monastir and other nearby locations.
There is one car park located directly opposite the terminal building, offering short-term and long-term parking. There is a pick-up and drop-off area right outside the terminal entrance, and assistance is available for the mobility impaired.
