Car Hire in Monaco - Getting to Monaco

The nearest international airport to Monaco is west of Nice, and takes about 45 minutes by car , but many of those rolling in dough take a helicopter shuttle. There are regular flights to Nice from many European cities and limited trans-Atlantic flights. In all 40 airlines land at this airport which serves as a hub fro the Cote d’Azure and is only 7kms west of the city. International flights also arrive in Marseille. Connections to Paris and other French cities are numerous.

The station at La Condamine, runs a frequent service to Nice, 20 minutes away, from there and it's an easy day trip. The high speed TGV trains connect to Paris in approx 5 hours (though they run more frequently via Marseilles) and run to several other destinations. There are also regular train services to Milan, Genoa, Geneva and Barcelona. Several trains an hour connect with other coastal towns, in an easterly and westerly direction. Buses run from Monaco into adjacent French territory

A car gives you the flexibility to explore the inland Provence region, which involves a hair raising, switchback drive over the mountains. The drive along the coast is spectacular but tiresome for drivers (traffic). Italy is less than an hour away and border formalities (including car) are extremely convenient.

Ferry services to Mediterranean destinations usually arrive and depart from Antibes (30 minutes by train), but there is a departure from Nice to Corsica.
