History:

The city was first habited by Villanovans in the Iron Age although the exact foundation date is still unknown. The first Siege was in 78BC by Pompey the great. In the middle ages the city was a part of the possessions of the Countess Matilda of Tuscany. It was on August 20th 1859 the representatives of Modena declared it a part of Italy Kingdom.

How to get here??

The city is well connected by Road, Rail and Air. Trains run in from most major cities in the country to Modena. There are also charted Flights and Helicopters to get to Modena. The most preferred means is either the Taxi or the Coaches from most major locations in Italy.

Geography:

Modena is situated at an elevation of 34m and is confined by 2 Affluent of the Po River. The Apennines mountain range starts from 10km from the city. The city has a population of about 180,000 residents and is spread over 182sq km.
