Car Rental Menorca - Exploring Menorca
Most visitors come for the beaches, and they are found mainly on the South coast with its flat landscape, deep gorge's and in places towering limestone cliffs. By contrast the North is largely undeveloped and natural with wild rocky vistas covered with pine trees.
Recommended beaches include; Binibeca (Sant Luis) a small sandy cove in the resort of Binibeca, Punta Prima (Sant Luis) a large beach of fine white sand, Cala en Porter (Alalor), with all the facilities of an established resort, Son Bou -San Jaime (Alailor), the longest beach on Menorca, with a good choice of accommodation, Cala Galdana (Ferreries) a beautiful pine clad bay and Cala Macarella, Macarelleta (Ciudadella) a pair of extremely picturesque pine fringed cove's. There are however many small, private coves if you go looking for them.
You are never far from the coast on this island, but the small villages inland are typically Mediterranean, and best explored by car, together with a compulsory trip to Mount Toro the highest point on the island.
There are several golf courses on the island and a high standard of tourist facilities.
If youre looking for a quieter alternative to Spains popular islands, Menorca is ideal.
