Car Hire in Marseille - Getting to Marseille
Marseille is a major regional air hub and its international airport has direct flights to over 80 worldwide destinations, with almost daily flights to most major European centers (45 alone to Paris) and several trans-Atlantic flights daily. Coaches leave every 20mins to the city (5am 9pm), with taxis and shuttles available all hours (25 minute journey).
There are also regular connections by train to all major cities in the region, including Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Milan, Genoa, Geneva and even non stop trains to selected German and Austrian cities, among others. There are 12 high speed TGV trains a day to Paris (3 hours) and many other cities in France. Local trains run almost hourly along the Cote dAzure.
Buses depart regularly from the coach station to coastal and regional towns, and its possible to catch non stop buses to cities throughout Europe.
By car there is a good network of highways from Marseille. The A7 runs northeast towards Lyon, the A55 directs you to the Spanish border, and the A50 runs along the coast towards Nice, the Cote dAzure and Italy. Theres also Prado Carénage Tunnel which connects the north coastline motorway (A55) to the east motorway (A50).
Ferries run regularly to Corsica and several North Africa coastal cities, departing from the Joliette Passenger Terminal.
