Car Rental Marbella - Exploring Marbella
The Costa del Sol attracts hundreds of thousands of European sun-seekers year after year, and as holiday villas are scattered all over the coast, a car is quite necessary. Puerto Banus is a typical Mediterranean port, a bus ride away from central Marbella. It reeks of a thousand years of drying fish, but the galleons and fishing boats have been upstaged by super yachts. Today it is a hive of redeveloped waterfront entertainment full of posing people, bodegas, restaurants and discos, with a smattering of chic boutiques.
To the west of the city are the remains of the Roman villa at Rio Verde and Roman bath houses at Guadalmina.
Malaga is the hub of the Costa del Sol, a curious mix of history and tourist tack. Nearby, the villages of Nerja and Mijas are charming. Further along Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola are known for their beaches and laid back lifestyles.
