The majority of international flights are to South American destinations, but there are adequate connections available to most global locations.

Atocha is the oldest and largest with departues to the south of Spain including the high-speed AVE train to Sevilla. There is also Chamartin, which connects Madrid to the north of Spain and most European capitals. Taking the train is normally faster than the bus but normally a bit more expensive. The national train company is Renfe and it runs all regional trains in Spain.

Madrid has two long-distance bus stations as well as various stations connecting Madrid with villages in the province. Estacion Sur de Autobuses connects Madrid to the south and with many international destinations. Auto Res has mostly destinations to the north and east of Spain.
