Mini guide to Lyon St Exupery Airport
One of Frances most modern and best equipped airports, Lyon St Exupery Airport is centrally located and provides access to the popular and stunning Rhone Alps region of France. There are regular flights to major European cities and some flights to and from African and Middle East cities, as well as transatlantic flights to Canada and the Caribbean, and connections to all main airports within the country.
The airport has two twin-level terminals joined by a main hall. Terminal 1 caters to domestic flights while Terminal 2 serves international arrivals and departures. In both terminals, arrivals are on the level 1 and departures on level 2; most of the airports facilities can be found on level 2 of both terminals and the connecting hall.
There are three ATM machines, one each on level 2 of Terminal 1 and 2 and one on level 1 of Terminal 1. There is a currency exchange booth and post office situated on level 2 of the connecting hall near the entrance to Terminal 1.
There are six restaurants and four bars spread around the airport that provide excellent meals and refreshments located on the ground floor. Above the connecting hall is the 4-star Sofitel Hotel, convenient for late night arrivals or early morning departures. A wide range of shops provide an excellent array of both duty-free and regular goods such as alcohol, tobacco, wine, handicrafts, local foodstuffs, gifts, snacks, media and books. There is even a Printemps department store. A travel agency on level 2 of Terminal 1 can assist with any further travel plans.
The airport has an excellent business centre which can cater for up to 80 people, with 11 meeting rooms of various sizes that can be fully equipped to suit visitors needs. Contact the Business Centre for reservations and details (fax: +33 (0) 4 72 22 74 74).
Those who require special assistance or wheelchairs should notify their airlines when booking their flight. Specially fitted toilets, ramps and lifts are located across the airport. As for car parking, designated areas are available in the car park opposite the terminal.
An information counter is centrally located in the connecting hall and can assist visitors with baggage services, lost property, messages for travellers, loud speaker announcements and tourist information, etc.
