Getting to Lyon
The Lyon-Saint-Exupéry International Airport is a busy airport with flights to 31 French destinations and 40 international cities. There are several trans-Atlantic flights a week. The Terminal is modern and spacious, with good transport options into the city, including its own rail station with TGV links to Paris. Geneva is also only an hour away.
Lyon is also a major railway hub and it currently serves 3 primary directions: the South-East (Marseille), the Atlantic and the North (Paris-Lille). By High-speed TGV train, Lyon is 2 hours from Paris, 3 hours from Lille and 1 hour 30 minutes from the Mediterranean. Three proposed TGV links from Lyon to Turin Barcelona and Strasburg are also planned.
Buses depart frequently to destinations all over France and several other European cities. There are departures for Paris almost hourly and regular buses to Geneva and the Mediterranean coast, as well as the Rhine area.
Surprisingly, Lyon is even a sea port, with ferries regularly plying the Rhône and Saône rivers allowing several regular river-sea lines to serve the Mediterranean.
