Car Rental Lyon - Exploring Lyon
Lyon sits in the lovely Rhone valley and there are several attractions within easy reach of the city.
For a break from the city head north to the Parc de la Tête d'Or, where there are ponds and rose gardens, botanical gardens, a small zoo and lots of amusements for kids.
Right down in the south of the city, in the Gerland quartier is a newly developed area with a marina and a park on the Rhône's east bank, which provides an illusion of nature around the mirrored Institut Pasteur and the thrusting wings and arches of the École Normale Supérieure.
The Monts du Lyonnais are just to the southwest of the city and are a modest range covered in forest and cherry orchards, with a few charming villages dotted about the area. It is also refreshingly free out tourists. Pick of the medieval villages are Pérouges and Crémieu and there is a fun and scenic steam train that leaves from L'Arbresle during the summer.
At Courzieu's Animal Park, visitors will have the opportunity to have a close encounter with wolves and observe eagles flying above their heads.
