Car Rental Luxembourg - Exploring Luxembourg
Müllerthal (Little Switzerland) lies in a pocket of woodland northeast of the capital, and is the countrys best area for hiking, cycling and rock climbing. There are picturesque walking trails and spectacular waterfalls worth visiting. Just past Berdorf are the crumbling remains of Beaufort castle. Theres also a basilica and an interesting Benedictine abbey.
A forty-minute drive from Luxembourg, the National Military Museum in Diekirch is almost worth the trip in itself, with outstanding exhibits of the countrys volatile history. The nearby Bourscheid Castle is a thousand year-old relic, perched on a scenic plateau overlooking the Sûre River.
The quiet, woodland town of Reisdorf is northeast of the capital and is best reached by car. Interesting sights include the remains of a Roman villa, Hoesdorf steeple, and the US memorial, while nearby hills provide panoramic views of Germany's Eifel region.
Wine tasting is the main attraction of the Moselle Valley, a short drive east of the capital. The Cellars of Poll-Fabaire in the hillside village of Wormeldange are worth a visit. The Wine Road starts at Waserbillig and follows the Moselle river south through the wine region's capital at Grevenmacher and beyond to the scenic villages of Wormeldange, Remich and Schengen.
