Housed on a 1,000-hectare site, Leipzig/Halle Airport is a modern transport hub with striking architecture. About two million passengers per year take to the skies at this airport, which has a capacity for over 4 million.
There are three terminals: A, B, and the newer Central Terminal which has 35 check-in desks on Level 2. The Central Terminal provides a railway station, multi-storey car park and check-in area all under one roof. Quick check-in desks are located in Terminal B.
There are Sparkasse and Reisebank branches with money exchange and ATM facilities at Terminals A and B, while a post office can be found in the Arrivals hall.
A variety of bars, restaurants and shops are located in the Central Terminal and in Terminal B. There is also a shopping mall with many interesting outlets including a duty-free shop in Terminal B. Shops and restaurants are open daily, and opening hours correspond with flight schedules.
The air-conditioned conference rooms on the upper floor of Terminal B are well-equipped with up-to-date communication devices and can accommodate 4 to 40 people. Video and LCD projectors for rooms 1 and 2 as well as a photocopier, fax machine, overhead projector and telephone can also be hired. An excellent catering service provided by Mövenpick is also available.
The airport was built to suit the needs of the disabled and has specially adapted toilets and telephones on both floors. Restaurants, conference rooms, waiting areas and departure lounges on the upper floor are accessible by lift. Short-stay parking spaces are available in front of Terminal B and in car parks P1 and P2 as well as the multi-storey. Parking is free to aG and H card holders.
The 24-hour airport information desk is situated on the ground floor of Terminal B and has information about the airport, flight connections and services at the airport. The information desk also has parking vouchers (tel: +49 (0)341-224-1155).
