KUL is a major hub for the region, with flights from all over the world arriving at the airport. It is situated in Sepang, 55km south of Kuala Lumpur, and is a modern airport providing state-of-the-art facilities.
There is only 1 terminal comprising the main terminal building, contact pier and satellite. A courtesy Aerotrain connects the contact pier and the satellite every 3-5 minutes, with journeys lasting 2.5 minutes.
A bank is located on the ground floor of Block C in the short-term car park, near the bus station. Bureaux de change and ATMs may be found on both the Departures and Arrivals levels in the main terminal building, in the satellite and in the Arrivals hall. You will find a post office, open 0830-1700, on the Departures level in the main terminal. It closes on Sunday.
Restaurants, snack bars, fast food outlets and cafés catering for all tastes are on hand. Both western fast-food outlets and restaurants offering a diverse Malaysian mixture of foods are available. You can enjoy Indian, Chinese and Malay specialties in the many restaurants and bars.
A wide variety of shops are available, including duty-free, mostly in the satellite, but with a decent selection also on level 5 in Departures and level 3 in Arrivals. Left luggage services are positioned on the public concourse on both the Departures and Arrivals levels while coin-operated lockers are also available in the satellite. A worldwide baggage delivery service can be arranged from counter J42 on the departures level of the main terminal building. Smokers will find relief in lounges positioned near gate C1 in the satellite and gate B1 on the Domestic level.
Nursery/baby changing facilities are found throughout the airport and a 24-hour clinic is on hand in the arrivals concourse, whilst an emergency sick bay is found in the satellite. Pharmacies are located in the main terminal and in the satellite.
The Plaza Business Centre is situated on the mezzanine floor in the satellite (Tel: (0) 3 8787 2323). Facilities include fax machines and Internet, as well as postal and secretarial services.
Facilities for disabled travellers include ramps, lifts, wheelchair-accessible toilets and adapted telephones. Passengers should notify their airline of their needs in advance to arrange any special assistance. Special car parking spaces are located on level 2 in the covered short-term car park, close to the link bridges which connect to the terminal.
An airport information and tourist information counter is located in arrivals in the satellite in front of the Aerotrain station. Another help desk is found in the contact pier near one of the escalators leading to the immigration hall. A Visitors Service Centre is also available and offers information on airport services, while tourist information is positioned in the baggage reclaim hall. You will find info kiosks situated across the airport.
