Here, you can view everything included in a typical pre-European Maori village, such as a kauta (cooking shack), pataka (elevated cooking space), waka tiwai (fishing boat) and a paepae haumati (common outhouse).

For a truly exhilarating natural experience, it is recommended that you visit the Rainbow Falls. Situated on the KeriKeri River, the name originated from the Maori word “Waianiwaniwa”, which means “waters of the rainbow”. This picturesque destination is just 3 kilometers away from the KeriKeri town and upon reaching the site, you will be greeted with a breathtaking view of the most beautiful spectrum of colours from the 20 kilometer-high waterfalls.

The Farmer's Market in KeriKeri is also an excellent place to visit for a wide variety of arts and crafts, clothes as well as food products such as delightfully rich chocolates and sweet-tasting wines. If you are exhausted after your Sunday morning sojourn, you can always opt for a sight-seeing-tour-cum steamboat ride at the memorable Stone Store Basin.
