Car Hire in Karlskrona Downtown - Mini guide to Karlskrona Downtown
With its warm climate and closeness to the Baltic Sea, Karlskrona, often called a “city of archipelago” offers great opportunities for sailing and swimming. Its islands and lovely nature makes for a good walk and a great route for biking.
The whole Naval Port of this southern Sweden city has made it on the World Heritage List. The Port is a big and modern museum which contains artifacts about naval history and its three churches (one of which is the Fredrick Church, one of the most recognizable buildings in town). Aside from these, a walk around the museum will take you to the sea where you can take a look at different boats and ships or the area with glass walls where you can watch the sea and the figureheads, those wooden statues placed in front of old ships.
The Old Fellow Rosenbom, a wooden statue of an old man outside the Admiralty Church at Stortorget is another popular attraction in Karlskrona. Rosenbom is said to be one of the first residents of Trosso, and was quite a legend.
Apart from its islands, Karlskrona is also the home of several parks such as the Hogland park and Vamo Park. Hogland park is considered the most outstanding park in the city while Vamo park is a combination of open air musem, an amusement park and a zoo.
If you are planning to go to Karlskrona, you can take a plane from several places in Sweden to Ronneby airport and then take an airbus to the center of the city. If you want comfort travelling around Karlskrona Downtown, there are a lot of companies which offer car hire.
