Car Rental Jersey - Exploring Jersey
Discover some of Jerseys natural beauty in its pristine beaches, coves and bays, dotted around the island. In between these beaches and the inland, you will discover historical sites, fascinating museums and some superb attractions for all the family.
The Jersey Museum, located in St Helier, explores the history, traditions and culture of the island in an exciting and interactive way, with plenty of exhibits and activities on offer. Part of the museum has been restored to recreate the Merchant's House, an example of a house of a wealthy shipbuilding family in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The Channel Islands Military Museum in the town of St Ouen, located to the northwest of St Helier on highway A12, is in a restored German bunker built during WWII. It has British and German military artefacts, ranging from uniforms and equipment to motorcycles and paperwork on display, and is well worth a visit.
In the village of St Clement is Samares Manor, which has extensive grounds and herb gardens. Activities here include craft demonstrations and wood turning, as well as falconry demonstrations. You can also ride in a Jersey horse-drawn van, or have a guided tour of the manor house.
In the village of St Mary, and set in the grounds of a carnation nursery, is the Butterfly Centre. Visitors walk through an enclosed area in which hundreds of rare and exotic butterflies live freely and breed in a re-creation of their natural habitat.
The drive from St John to Trinity on the coastal B roads will take you to heights of more than 100m over the cliffs of the north, offering fantastic views of the sea and surrounding bays. Jersey Zoo is located in Trinity and was set up by the famous conservationist Gerald Durrell. The park is set on 31 acres and allows you to come face-to-face with some of the world's most endangered animals.
