Jerez has a modern local airport called La Parra, located just 11kms northeast of the city centre. Iberia has daily flights here from Madrid and Barcelona, while Ryanair flies regularly from London Stansted. For onward destinations, there are flights to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria on Fridays and to Tenerife on Tuesdays. If you cannot find a convenient flight here, check out Seville Airport, which is less than two hours by road or rail.
If you are travelling around Andalusia in a rented vehicle, you will find that a new toll motorway links Jerez to Seville, making the journey very speedy indeed. Jerez also lies on the highway connecting Seville with Cadiz, Algeciras, Gibraltar, and the ferryboat landing for Tangier, Morocco. There's an overland road connecting Jerez with Granada and Málaga as well.
There are regular train and bus services to important towns such as Seville (90kms) and Madrid (613kms). Trains from Madrid arrive daily and a ticket from Madrid to Jerez on the TALGO costs 58 to 86; the trip takes 4 hours, 30 minutes. The railway station in Jerez is at the Plaza de la Estación at the eastern end of Calle Medina.
Bus connections are more frequent than train connections, and the location of the bus terminal is also more convenient. You'll find it on Calle Cartuja at the corner of Calle Madre de Dios, a 12-minute walk east of the Alcázar. About 17 buses arrive daily from Cadiz (1 hour) and three buses per day travel from Ronda (2 hours, 45 minutes). Additionally, seven buses a day arrive from Seville (1 hour, 30 minutes).
