This is a joke right! Ireland is one of the wettest places in Europe, receiving the brunt of Atlantic weather. Most locals will tell you that rainy weather is a great excuse to spend the day in the pub.

Fortunately Ireland’s weather is moderated by the Gulf Stream, so it seldom freezes, snow is rare, and summers are comfortable, never warmer the 30C.

July and August are the most reliable months when rain might only arrive for one or two days of the week, and on a sunny day Ireland is glorious, some have even complained of sunburn. These months also have the longest days (14 – 16 hours), but June or September are less crowded and also have reliable weather.

Murphy’s law guarantees that the prettiest areas, such as Kerry, get the most rainfall. Generally the west coast, particularly the in the south, is wetter than the east. The south east receives the most sunshine on the island.
