Car Hire Inca - Mini guide to Inca
Inca was an ancient civilization that began around 1200 AD. The tribes of this civilization found the famous Cusco Kingdom. Under the leadership of Manco Capac the Inca Empire was formed and went on to become the biggest and largest pre-Colombian American empire.
Inca Empire the territory was captured by the Spanish conquers. The fall of resistance of the last Inca king dates back to just 40 years after the civil war and it denoted the end of the Inca Empire.
The main architectures that remind us of the Inca Empire are Pottery and textiles. A breath taking site of Machu Picchu was constructed by the Inca engineers in the capital city of Cuzco. The construction of temples without mortars was so brilliant that you couldn’t do a thing in the world to stick a knife in to it.
Most of the Gold and Silver work of the Inca Empire was melted down after the conquest. Ceramics were painted to represent birds, waves and Geometric patterns. Many of these pieces are still in National museum of Archeology.
The other major technology of the Inca Empire was the Quipu or khipu which were strings assembled together to count and record information. The Incas were successful in medicinal field too with successful competition of skull surgery.
Incas army was one of the most powerful in the area and often had wars with other civilizations of its era. It was a tradition in the empire that every villager takes part in a war at least once so that he can be prepared to face battle when needed.
Incas did not use any iron or steel weapons rather went to war with beating of drums and trumpets. Their common weapon was wooden swords, bronze spears, wooden slings, and clubs with stone and spiked metals. The roads in the empire allowed the quick movement of troops.
If it was not for the civil war the empire wouldn’t have ended so early and in such a drastic way.
