Honolulu International Airport is just 3 miles from downtown Honolulu and a mere 9 miles from Waikiki Beach. This unique and beautiful airport is an artistic and cultural feast for tourists and residents alike. Beautiful features are in abundance: fishponds, waterfalls and outdoor gardens constitute large sections of the airport complex.
Honolulu International Airport has three terminals: Overseas, Inter-island, and Commuter. They are connected via a free shuttle bus known as Wiki Wiki bus. Terminal names are explanatory of the services the airport offers.
Most services and activities are clustered in the Main Terminal, officially named the John Rodgers Terminal. This Terminal has three concourses: Diamond, Central, and Ewa. It takes around 15 minutes to walk from one end of the Main Terminal to the other, but the corridors are open-air and pleasant.
Airport facilities include restaurants, bars and restaurants, all offering their own slant on the famous Hawaiian islands vibe. Banks, ATMs and currency exchange facilities are also widely available. Bank of Hawaii, open from 0830-1600 Mon-Thurs and 0830-1800 Friday, is situated opposite baggage area D in the main terminal. Coin-operated lockers are located in the Main Terminal.
There are two bookshops in the airport as well as several newsagents. Other shops include a toy store, clothes shops, jewellery and souvenir outlets. Duty free shopping is also available. A 24-hour medical centre is also available.
Business travellers will find the business centre in the Main Terminal. Photocopying, Internet access, essential office supplies and stationery, post office services, international telephone service, fax facilities and PC rental are all available. Another business centre is positioned opposite gate 25. Conference facilities in the Main Overseas Terminal and the Inter-island Terminal are also on hand for travellers, but must be reserved in advance via the Airport Information Unit ((+1) 808 836 6459).
The airport is accessible by wheelchair and TDD telephones are provided. Designated parking facilities are available in the multi-storey carpark.
