Heppenheim, a city in the Hesse state in western Germany is situated in the edge of odenwald Mountains and is the capital of Bergstraße district. Heppenheim was founded in the year 755AD and was ruled by powerful monastery of Lorsch.The town was later ruled by the abbots of the Lorsch in the Middle Ages. A major fire in the year 1369 destroyed the whole of Heppenheim except for just four houses.

The town can be reached through the B3 and B460 motorways and the A5 and A67 Autobahns. You can also hire taxis from Frankfurt airport which is about 47kms away from the city.

The city is set at an elevation of 122m above the sea level and spread over an area of 52.14 square kilometer. It has an approximate population of 25,500 residents.
