Hannover Airport handles about one million passengers a year with a total capacity of 4.5 million. It services chartered and scheduled airlines, and is located 15kms north of Hannover.

There are three terminals in the airport, situated close together and easily accessible on foot. A subway station connects Hannover Airport with the central railway station and the exhibition grounds.

Facilities include: banks, bureaux de change, a post office and ATMs.

There are a variety of restaurants and bars throughout all terminals. Shops include: duty-free, a tobacconist, a supermarket, a clothing accessories shop, a hair salon and a perfumery. There is also a pre-check-in service for early fliers which enables passengers to check-in the evening before their flight.

Mövenpick Conference Centre, located between Terminals A and B, provides ten different conference rooms for 5 to 350 people. Conference and business facilities are also available at the Maritim Hotel Airport Hannover and the Holiday Inn Airport Hannover, both of which are located on site.

Wheelchairs can be obtained from airline ticket counters, and lifts suitable for them are located throughout the airport; additionally, all doors open automatically. Toilets catering to the disabled are located between the terminals and accessible public telephones are situated on the Arrivals and Departures levels. In parking garages P1 and P2, there are numerous spaces reserved for disabled travellers.
