Bus trips run nonstop to Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen and Prague, with frequent local services to all centers in Germany, however the bus is far less comfortable and much slower than trains, even if it is the cheapest option..
Hamburg boasts a clean network of thoroughfares in and around the city, making driving a real pleasure. The autobahns A1 and A7 intersect in the city's southside,
and routes are clearly sign-posted around the city. The only drawback is that parking is expensive, particularly in the town centre and at hotel carparks.
Ferries can be caught between Hamburg and England; the rates vary according to the ticket class and whether you're bringing your car.
