Car Hire Genoa Airport
Mini guide to Genoa Airport
The gateway to the Liguria region of northwest Italy, Genoa Airport is a well-equipped, modern transportation hub, serving over 30 international destinations and more than five million passengers per year.
This terminal is laid out on four floors and is designed to receive a flow of 1,500 passengers per hour. The passengers gain direct access to the terminal via five mobile gangways.
Areas and services providing for arrivals are situated on the ground floor. These include a bank, post office, car hire offices, and a tourist information desk. Departures are catered for on the first floor, where two bars, a duty-free shop and other outlets can be found. A restaurant, snack bar, spectator balcony and airline offices can be found on the second floor, while the third floor houses the Aeroporto di Genova S.p.A. and ENAC offices.
The airport has a VIP lounge available for VIPs using the various carriers operating out of this airport, and for whom suitable pre-arrangements have been made. This lounge is known as the Sala Genova and is equipped to handle check-ins, has a luggage conveyor, and provides access to telephones, faxes, email and the Internet. Satellite weather reports, press agencies, television, a bar and bookshop are also available. Passengers of the Sala Genova that are only carrying hand luggage can check in by phone.
The banner Genova Hotel, inaugurated in the spring of 1994, was the first airport hotel in Italy. With its 284 rooms and conference rooms (one of which can accommodate up to 1,000 delegates), it has become one of the most important conference centres in Liguria. One wing of the building is suitable for housing a general aviation terminal and is directly linked to the aircraft apron.
Those who require special assistance or wheelchairs should notify their airlines when booking their flight. Specially fitted toilets, lifts and ramps are located across the airport. As for car parking, designated areas are available in the car park opposite the terminal.
There are information booths across the terminal which can assist visitors with baggage services, lost property, messages for travellers, loud speaker announcements and tourist information, etc.
