History

As a war-veteran city and the oldest of Hittite origin, Gaziantep has an abundance of ancient ruins and one can relive the past in the historical sites of the Gaziantep Fortress and the Ravanda Citadel in the city center and valuable Hittite remains that populate the city.

Gaziantep’s Archaeological Museum has some wonderful Neolithic, Hittite age, Roman and Commagene collections that attract many tourists.
