Friedrichshafen is located in southern Germany on the north of Lake Constance. It is very close to the Austrian and Swiss border making it a picturesque town. It is filled with history as well and one of the most famous reasons for this is the Zeppelin. This was the home of the airship company and the founder Count Von Zeppelin used to test the airships on the lake. There is now a museum that you can visit to learn all about the history of this flying contraption.

The economy of this area grew tremendously after this era and many other manufactures decided to settle here including Euro Bike and Inter Boot. Much of the economy also comes from tourism and you will find plenty of activities and interesting places to visit. The restaurants and cafes are also top class where you can experience true German cuisine and drink.

There is a ferry that transports people across the lake daily and from here you can enter Switzerland and Austria. This also makes for a fun journey instead of driving. Another way of travelling to the surrounding areas is to use the train, which makes regular stops here and to the neighbouring towns.
