Car Hire in Frankfurt - Getting to Frankfurt

Flughafen Frankfurt-am-Main is Europe's busiest airport, with two huge terminals connected by the Sky Line railway. Regular flights operate between most trans-Atlantic and European cities. Departure taxes are included in ticket costs if bought in Germany. Buses into Frankfurt leave from level 1 in Terminal 1, but the quickest and cheapest way into the city centre is on the S8 commuter train. From the airport you can get a taxi at any time, although the charges are steep

Frankfurt's Hauptbahnhof is the busiest train station in Germany, and 90 long-distance trains make daily stops at the airport's train station. The underground S-Bahn and U-Bahn train lines are more regular and convenient than buses.

Long-distance buses run between Frankfurt and most European countries, even as far North Africa (via Ferry).

Cars can sometimes outnumber people in Frankfurt, making parking a daily battle, but traffic thins out further from the city centre. Cycling is a good way to escape traffic and parking problems, and bike lanes are marked on most roads.
