Located on the river Célé, 44 miles (71kms) east of Cahors, in southwestern France, Figeac is a beautiful town featuring a well-preserved medieval centre. Presently, this building contains a most appealing museum that is devoted to his life and work. A further attraction in Figeac is the Church of St-Sauveur near the tourist office, with its wonderful Gothic chapter house adorned with dramatic 17th century carved wood panels that show the life of Christ.
