Car Hire Fargo - Mini guide to Fargo
If youve never visited Fargo, North Dakota, your only impression of it may be gleaned from the Cohen brothers film of the same name. In fact, Fargo has much more to offer than just snow-saturated landscape. It is a pretty riverside town, brimming with varied attractions and entertainment venues.
The Fargo Air Museum was opened in August 2001 and is devoted to exhibits on aviation, its history and its impact on society. The aircraft on display include one of only three existing flying Super Corsairs in the world, and a Beech Staggerwing, a classic aeroplane used in WWII on reconnaissance missions.
The FARGODOME is a massive exhibition space featuring a range of sports events, world-class concerts, expos, rodeos, festivals and more. It also contains convention and meeting rooms, which are available for hire.
Bonanzaville, a re-created pioneer village, is an impressive historical construction stretching over 4.9 hectares. Its grounds encompass 40 buildings typical of the late 19th century bonanza era in North Dakota, including a schoolhouse, log cabins, a church, train depot and farm manor house. All the buildings are furnished with authentic period fittings and approximately 400,000 artefacts. There are also several museums on the premises.
The Plains Art Museum, housed in a turn-of-the-century warehouse, displays many regional and national exhibits as well as a notable permanent collection showcasing regional, contemporary, folk and traditional Native American art.
The citys west side is its retail and entertainment hub, with a plethora of restaurants and stores. The West Acres Shopping Mall is an especially attractive option for keen shoppers. There are also numerous nightclubs, bars and casinos in Fargo, and a multiplex cinema containing the areas first large-format screen and stadium seating in all theatres.
