Car Hire Euston Station - Mini guide to Euston Station
Euston station is one of those stations that immediately evoke London life. A hub for most of the rest of the country, the grand old building is one of the busiest stations in London, and also one of the most historical. It was the first of the capital cities inter-city stations.
It was opened in the year 1837, and served famously as the terminus as the London to Birmingham railway, a railway that had been constructed by Robert Stephenson, creator of The Rocket. Right at the very start of its life it only had two platforms, one that served as a point of departure, the other for arrivals. From these simple beginnings it has become one of the busiest terminals in the UK. Philip Hardwick was the architect for the building, and as part of his legacy he left the famous Euston Arch at the station's entrance.
Enter the station and you are immediately sucked into a seemingly chaotic but expertly managed environment. In fact, staggeringly, considering the amount of traffic the place takes every day, trains pretty much run on time. However, the tube section of the station is well known as the most confusing spot in London.
Located just south of Camden town and near Kings Cross, if you want to get anywhere in London you couldn't choose a better place than Euston Station. With bus, taxi, train and car hire operating from the station you will have no problems getting around.
