Eisenhuttenstadt is a town in Brandenburg, Germany. It is referred as Hutte by the local. The city is called as Schrottgorod too but in a light manner. It belongs to the city of Oder and borders Poland directly. The town’s economy is dominated by a steel company which is the subsidiary of the Mittal industries.

The city was founded in the mid 13th century by Henry the III. It was in late 17th century that Prince Charles IV commissioned the building of city wall. During Nazi occupation the city was turned into a chemical factory to manufacture gun powders.

Frankfurt is the nearest airport to the city and is located at about 25km from the city. The city is also located at about 100 km from the country’s capital of Berlin. You have buses and rails that take you to the city on a regular basis.

The city is surrounded by hills as it lies in a valley and has a population of roughly about 35000 residents spread over 64 sq. km. The city is almost at ground level being a valley with maximum elevation being just 46m.
