Marktplatz: the market square which contains Georgenkirche (the Church of St. George), the town hall and Baroque city castle. Jakobsplan: monument to St George also contains part of old town walls and the Goethe Garden. The Stadtschloss: town palace built between 1742 and 1745 is now a local museum, which also hosts special exhibitions. Rathaus or town hall: was formerly a wine cellar which currently houses the city administration offices.
