Dudelange is the fourth most populous commune in Luxembourg and has city status, making it also the third most populous city in Luxemburg and is great to see from a car hire. It is close to the border of France. Within the commune is the smaller town of Budersberg which is close to The Mont St. Jean. The Mont St. Jean is a hill, castle, and religious site. Dudelange is an important industrial town that grew out of the 3 villages and a steel mill in 1900.

Dudelange has two sports stadiums, one of which is named after former President John F. Kennedy and is home of the athletics club CA Dudelange. The other is Stade Jos Nosbaum and is a football (soccer) stadium hosting the F91 Dudelange. Dudelange Radio Tower is near Dudelange and is used for FM radio and television transmission. In 1981 a Belgian military aircraft hit the tower and the resulting debris killed a couple in a nearby house.

Within Dudelange is Centre D'Art Dominique Lang which is translated to Art Center Dominica Lang and is an art center as the name suggests. This art center is host to paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations. Other cultural programs include music at Opderschmelz and St. Martin Church as well as Art Center Nei Liicht and the Municipal Museum. The Municipal Museum houses a collection of valuable historical artefacts as well a permanent exhibition of fossils, minerals and other objects related to geology, managed by the AGMP. Many of the artefacts come from the archaeological excavations on the Mount St. John, near the restored ruins of the old castle.There also is the Documentation Center on Human Migration which deals with immigration and emigration through documentation and exhibits from time to time.
