Car Hire in Dinard - Getting to Dinard
Dinard is located on the Gulf of Mayo in the region of Brittany, France. The airport is about 10kms to the south of the city centre and there are regular scheduled flights with Aurigny from European cities. Ryanair operates a scheduled service from London Stansted, taking less than an hour. There are also daily flights from Jersey and Guernsey.
From the airport, bus number 56 is timed to coincide with each Ryanair flight and goes to St Malos train station. The journey takes about 30 minutes and costs 3. Taxis also go to the city and cost about three times as much.
Coming from Paris by car, take the A13 (Paris-Caen) motorway west. From Caen, stay on the ring road meeting the A84/E401 (Caen-Brittany) motorway southwest. From Brittany, head northwest on the D4, then take the N137 north to St Mayo; turn left on to the D168 before St Mayo and head over the bridge to Dinard.
Trains only go as far as St Malo and leave from Paris Gare Montparnasse every hour, taking just over three hours and going via Rennes. From Lille, trains depart about every two hours via Rennes, and take around 5 hours, 20 minutes. Eurostar trains go from Londons Waterloo Station to Lille or Paris (via the Channel Tunnel) where it is possible to get a connection to St Malo. From St Malo, you'll have to take one of the 10 to 14 buses that depart daily for the 20-minute ride to Dinard.
The town of Dinard is easily accessible from the Channel ports and is a 15-minute drive from St Malo. The ports of Caen, Cherbourg and Le Havre are also an easy drive.
