Transportation to and From Detroit Airport
SMART bus No. 285, situated on the lower level of Smith Terminal runs services into Detroit and the surrounding area. You'll need to take two buses to get into town. There is no bus stop at the McNamara terminal, so passengers are advised to take the free airport shuttle to the Smith Terminal and get on a city connection bus from there.
Metered taxis and airport mini-van services operate outside all terminal exits. The 20-mile cab ride into downtown Detroit takes 30 - 45 minutes. For more information, call the airport's transportation hotline on: (+1) 734 942-3623.
By car, you can access the airport via two interstate motorways. Take exit 198 that turns into Rogell Drive when arriving from the I-94 Middlebelt/Merriman Road, or follow exit 15 if travelling on the I-275 Eureka Road.
Airport parking facilities have recently been improved. Services include short-term, long term and disabled parking, all situated close to the airport with easy access of terminals. The carparks and terminals are connected by a free shuttle service.
