Dallas is the most mythical city in Texas, with a past and present rich in all the stuff American legends are made of. Recently it has been made particularly famous by the Dallas Cowboys football team and the long-running Dallas television series. Fair Park has a couple of great museums: the hands-on Science Place is great for the whole family with attractions that include robotic dinosaurs, a medical gallery featuring a human brain and real beating heart, a planetarium and IMAX theater.

The African-American Museum is one of the best museums of its kind, with exhibits detailing the art and rich history of native Africans from pre-slavery Africa through to the present day.
