Cottbus:Cottbus is a city in East Germany. It is the capital of Potsdam and is the second largest city of Bradenbureg. Apart from Bradenburg, Frankfurt and Potsdam, Cottbus is one of the four top centers of the Federal State of Bradenburg. It amazingly has the status of an urban district. Since 1976, the city has more than 100,000 inhabitants. It is a center for service, scientific and administration. The Branitzer park is the probably most meaning and most well-known park in Cottbus. The Evangelist castle church was built 1419 as Katharinenkirche and destroyed later several times by fires. It was established after introduction of the Huguenots. At the mill ditch the oldest Cottbuser building, the Loh and Weissgerberhaeuser stands. These occupy the three development phases of the Gerberhandwerks. Cottbus possesses the oldest cinema functional structure of Germany. This was built in modern architecture. The Obenkino in the Gladhouse and the KinOh town hall are further small cinemas in the city centre. It is the only national theatre in Brandenburg and represents play, concert hall and ballet .
There are also other interesting events which take place in Cottbus. The fairs and exhibitions take place in the ""MesseCottbus"". This modern complex offers multi-functional exhibition surfaces on a surface and also offer the best conditions for meetings of all art. It is in direct proximity to the well-known park of Pueckler Branitz.
