In terms of traffic units, Cologne/Bonn Airport Konrad Adenauer is the fifth-largest commercial airport in Germany, with 7.5 million passengers annually. Forty airlines serve destinations primarily in Germany and other parts of Europe and the world, with a catchment area of 20 million people. The airport is located 15kms southeast of Cologne.

There are two terminals and Cologne/Bonn’s capacity is 12 million passengers annually, owing to the modern Terminal 2. Passengers can transfer between terminals on a free shuttle bus that runs every 10 minutes. The observation platforms are located at Terminal 1, between gates B and C.

There is a post office (Terminal 2/D Arrivals) and stamps are available 24 hours (Terminal 1/B, C Departures). Banks are located at Terminal 1/B and Terminal 2/D Departures; ATMs and bureau de change facilities are also available.

Restaurants and cafés are located in both terminals in the Departures and Arrivals areas; opening hours depend on flight timetables, but the buffet-bar is open 24 hours a day. There are two duty-free shops, along with various other shops and facilities, including travel agencies and executive lounges.

Conference rooms for 6 to 200 persons can be hired at the airport from Stockheim Conference Centre or from the Holiday Inn Conference Centre. Telephone and fax facilities are available, and IT equipment can be provided on request.

Airport toilets and telephones are wheelchair accessible; toilets are located on the Arrivals level and there is a lift for wheelchairs between Entrances B and C. Disabled parking spaces are located on the Arrivals and Departures levels as well as in the multi-storey car park P2, level 4.
