Upon leaving the airport, drive on straight over the roundabout and continue along Memorial Avenue into Fendalton Avenue. Hagley Park will be seen as one reaches the end of Fendalton Avenue, and a left turn onto Harper Avenue should be taken at this point. Follow straight on from Harper Avenue into Bealey Avenue and drive on until you reach Columbo Street. At Columbo Street make a right turn and follow this road to reach Cathedral Square in the centre of Christchurch.

A public bus operates every 30 minutes, with trip duration of 30-40 minutes to downtown. Shuttle buses that can be shared deliver travellers to their respective lodgings. Buses leave from outside the domestic and the international areas of the terminal buildings.
